Home of Seven Steps to Wholeness and Daniel's Challenge

Daniel's Challenge

It is time for a healthcare revolution, for Tea Party Healthcare as it were, from activists who have determined to take back their health. Why is it essential that we have a healthcare revolution, and why must it be initiated at the grass-roots level, rather than simply reforming Traditional Healthcare, or the Insurance Industry, or even the Food Industry? Quite frankly, the master teacher has taught us why, "you cannot pour new wine into old bottles..." While there is a lot of good in Corporate America, there is also an awful lot of corruption and looking out after self-interests rather than the true interests of the consumer (you and me). These three industries that we traditionally look to for our healthcare needs are set in their ways and their ways have led to the highest rates of disability and disease in the world while at the same time enabling them to become the most wealthy industries on the face of the earth. That is a fact!

Consider the following: In the early 1900s just one in 150 Americans were overweight. By comparison in 2009 two in three Americans were overweight and we suffered from the highest rates of diet-induced disability, illness, and disease in the world. What did we do in 1909 that we didn't do in 2009?

We were far more physically active and our diet was primarily whole foods from the garden. About 70 percent of our diet came from whole plant-based food sources; less than 20 percent came from animal-based food sources; less than 10 percent of our diet came from refined and processed food sources.

Now fast-forward 100 years to 2009. Americans, ate just seven percent of their calories from whole plant-based foods, 42 percent from animal-based foods, and 51 percent from processed and refined foods. Wait a minute, hold up, do you understand what happened during a 100 year period? We now eat just 1/10 the foods from God's garden that we ate in 1909. As we moved from the farms to the cities, we left most all whole foods on the farm and allowed the food industry to create "fake food" for us. We convinced ourselves that we are too busy to eat real food. Since market forces are what they are, the food industry voluntarily agreed to this plan and have substituted shelf-stable cadaver-like foods for whole living foods that God ordained for our use.

If you are satisfied with your present body weight and your health, then keep doing what you are doing. If not, then you should accept Daniel's Challenge and begin to take back control of your health. Get on the Tea Party Healthcare bandwagon as it were and become an active part of the voice of reason when it comes to health.

There are many spokes in the wheel of health; diet is just one of them. Each spoke in this picture represents real factors that cannot be ignored if one is to enjoy their true vitality potential. To become a true healthcare activist, we need to become experts in each of these areas. Explore each of the important spokes that are included in the wheel of health.

Spokes in the Wheel:
Diet
Fasting
Pure Water
Temperance
Fresh Air and Sunshine
Sleep
Exercise
Mind and Spirit
Informed Self Care
